About The Walk

Only six days to go until our walkers, Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton and the Police Association of Victoria Secretary Wayne Gatt, meet “Head to Head” in Wangaratta. Thankyou for your ongoing support and donations, we are well on our way to hitting our fundraising goal of $500,000.

Funds raised will be used to professionalise and expand the Retired Peer Support Officer (RPSO) program, a volunteer group of retired police members supporting over 700 mostly former members experiencing a range of mental health issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and alcohol and substance abuse.

See how far they've come!

Catch Up On The Walk: Day 13-16

Between Swifts Creek and the top of Mt Hotham, Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton has seen long walks, huge hill climbs and beautiful countryside along the Great Alpine road.

From the other side, just shy of Echuca – TPAV Secretary Wayne Gatt has seen long stretches of gun-barrel roads and friendly faces all the way.

Family days, welcoming parties, chats with members and locals stopping to donate on the road – it’s clear we are all on the same page here.

Well done so far!

“This walk represents an acknowledgement of the struggle that many of our members have and do face every day, and our commitment to help them however we can to emerge from the dark times.”
